Have you ever been able relate to this ?
?You know you are tired when you are more upset about squandering your coffee than you are about destroying your favourite top.?
There?s not much to say about this phrase, except that this basically just did happen to me. I spilled coffee all over, destroying my favourite top. I was really surprised when I cared more about my coffee than I did about spilling it on myself (the coffee was not particularly hot at the time happily). I knew I had been powering on attempting to get more stuff done than was really possible ? I did not realize that I had reached that degree of fatigue.
It?s all good though and I'm in the process of changing a few things. Unfortunately, it will take awhile before I am finished everything I have guaranteed to deliver and I'm going to be busier than I want.
Till then I am getting back to a more cosy pace, I am going to have to start taking great care of myself instead of counting on caffeine to get me thru!
If you're at all like me and have this ridiculous bias to bite off more than you can chew ? it's so important to be aware of all the tiny signs that tell you it is time to tone down.
They can include (but aren't limited to) overreacting to tiny disenchantments, increased uneasiness and jitteriness, poor concentration, reduced resistance to nasty habits and more.
When I advise better self-care (and outline a plan) with my clients they notice that many of the first issues they came to see me about start to improve because they were signs of a deeper problem ? exhaustion.
Keep on looking for those little clues and make alterations where critical to get your life back in balance.
Then enjoy your coffee because you like it not because you need it.
