London 2012 Olympic diving bronze medallist Tom Daley says he hopes he can go for gold at the 2016 Rio Olympics ? despite the fact he will be ?old?, aged 22. Tom Daley?s 10m platform diving final was one of the most watched television events of London 2012 Daley, 18, made his Olympic debut four years ago in Beijing and has grown up in the public eye, but said the support of the British public had been a huge help at the London Games. ?I was very surprised at just how much the British public embraced the Olympic Games,? he said. ?Everyone at the beginning was thinking it would cause havoc but as soon as it started and GB started doing well they really got into it and everyone?s a bit sad now it?s all over.? And when asked about the prospect of making his third Olympic appearance in four years time, Daley sounded up for the challenge. ?It does sound old ? being 22 ? but diving peak is normally around 22 so hopefully I can go out there and be more consistent and challenge for the gold medal.?
